Mrs. Maggie Campbell began her career in politics volunteering for the Democratic Presidential race in the late 1970s. She assisted in the campaigns of California Mayoral, Senatorial, and Congressional races. Seeking the office of City Council member in 2005 she received considerable support from the community. In 2008 Mrs. Campbell entered the race for the office of the State Assembly, District 36, currently known as "the red district" because of a 10 year Republican stronghold. After months of campaigning it became clear that Democrats in district 36 simply were not motivated to vote. Less than 15% of registered Democratic population actually voted. Mrs. Campbell turned her immediate attention to organizing and encouraging Democratic voters. She launched the “Inspiring Values Democrats Club” on May 30, 2008, 3 days before election day, of June 3, 2008. Immediately following the elections, she learned that less than 10% of 52,000 democratic votes exercised their right to vote. On December 27, 2008, Mrs. Campbell launched her 2010 Campaign for the State Assembly. Mrs. Maggie Campbell has dedicated her leadership and organizational skills to organizing the Democrats in District 36 and encourage them to vote. Her target goal is to reach no less than 95% voter participation by the 2010 elections. Mrs. Campbell and her husband Alvin are residence of Palmdale.
